Electrifying Celebration of Praise
The Campus Voltage! and Youth Voltage had the first Celebration of Praise at Antioch Centre on Saturday, 23 June 2007.
What a way to kick off the Campus Voltage! Our beloved deaconess Yoke Kheng led the worship with powerful and awesome songs:
Scriptures read included:
Isaiah 60:1-3
1“Arise, Jerusalem! Let your light shine for all the nations to see! For the glory of the LORD is shining upon you. 2 Darkness as black as night will cover all the nations of the earth, but the glory of the LORD will shine over you. 3 All nations will come to your light. Mighty kings will come to see your radiance.
Psalm 27:1
The LORD is my light and my salvation -
So why should I be afraid?
The LORD protects me from danger –
So why should I tremble?
2 Corinthians 4:6
For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.
John 8:12
Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”

Who was the speaker? This is even more electrifying - Pastor Phil Dooley, Youth Pastor Hillsong Youth Ministries. Unbelievable, right? Eh...he was not here physically but we watched a DVD of his message entitled - "Generation of Light". Cool! We heard some encouraging responses from the Campus Voltage! and Youth Voltage after the message. The message has indeed started a spark in their heart, and God will create a flame, and they will be a Generation of Light - Carriers of God's Glory!
Let your Light shine forth!

A rising generation
I see a generation
Rising up to take their place
With selfless faith
With selfless faith ...

Welcome to the Campus Voltage! blogpage.
Campus Voltage! is the continuance of Youth Voltage, where previously school-going students have passed another milestone and stepped into college/university life. As we all know (for those of us who can say 'been there, done that'), it comes complete with a set of fresh challenges, obstacles, joys and experiences.
So where do college students fit in? Our Lord Jesus says it best in Matthew 5.13-16 (taken from 'The Message'):
Salt and Light
13"Let me tell you why you are here. You're here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavours of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You've lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage.
14-16"Here's another way to put it: You're here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We're going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don't think I'm going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I'm putting you on a light stand. Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.
Thus as a generation of young eagles, sharp arrows and bearers of light, let's be all we can be for the glory of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour.
Campus Voltage! seeks to meet the needs (spiritual and otherwise) of college students with the love and fellowship of our Lord Jesus Christ. We meet on Saturday from 4pm - 5.30pm @ Antioch Centre.
Before I end, on behalf of the core team, welcome once again and may you continue to grow in Christ as you grow up.
